Hey i recently upgraded to Windows 7 and Premiere CS4. I captured a video (1.30 hr in length) directly into premiere (.avi) I was required by the client to create a dvd and also the footage into .mov format. I created the dvd no problem and it fitted all onto a standard DVD, however when it came to the .mov export it created a file that was 25gb in size?????? very strange, i broke the clip down and had to but sections onto several DVDS however i’m just interested into any solutions that people might have or the reasoning behind it? I’m quite experienced with premiere however im baffled and have a feeling ive just accidently made a school boy error.

That sounds normal for DV. 1hr 30 will only dir on a single layer disc with mpeg2 compression which I’d about 40:1. DV is 5:1 less compression = larger file size.

Like Jon said plus you are exporting to a mov file depending on the settings can have a larger file than a equivalent time DV file
