  • Strange bug in importing video files

    Has anybody seen this before?…

Importing video clip as elements for compositing some vfx shots together. All clips have a number as a suffix (eg. “_01”, “_2”, etc.). When I import one file in particular and drop it into a comp, it’s length gets shortened, gets a couple of seconds cut off the end.

When I delete it, rename the file with a different suffix (“_2” becomes “_3”) and go through the same steps, import and drop into same comp, it stays unaffected.

    A little annoying bug.

How are you importing it? Is AE interpreting the frame rate correctly?

It’s an .mov only a few seconds long. Either way I bring it in it gets interpreted the same way.

Give more info on type of footage. What is the codec, frame rate, screen size, audio sampling etc. What type of camera shot it?
