    Hi folks,

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion, and cannot import my 5d footage into Final Cut 6. It worked before the upgrade.

I’ve re-downloaded the plug-in, restarted the software, then the computer. I get the “directory structure” error.

I can use Streamclip, but I was wondering if there’s a fix so that I can continue to use Final Cut.

Any suggestions, other than switching to Premiere?

Yeah…don’t use Mountain Lion. Mountain Lion is hiding part of that structure that FCP 6 needs to see. Mountain Lion is the culprit.

If you want to continue using an old…and I mean 5.5 years old…editing software, you need to stick to the older OS that supports it. Need to use Lion or Snow Leopard. 10.4 or 10.3. Unfortunately, that means you need to back up your system, and reformat and reinstall from scratch.

That’s the reason I haven’t updated my system in a few years. If it works, don’t fix it.

I’m about due for a new machine. That’s when I switch to Premier.

Thanks for the info. I use Final Cut 7 at work, and haven’t wanted to invest in an upgrade for the little I do at home. Esp. since we’re NOT moving to Final Cut X.

I’m good with Mountain Lion, and we’re in the process of switching over to Premiere at work, so I think that’s the way I’ll go. No use throwing away money on old software.

    Thanks guys!

Hmm. I don’t know about importing Canon 5D footage (you need a special plugin for that?), but I’ve been running FCP 6.0.6 on ML 10.8.2 with no problems whatsoever. I’m now curious to know if 10.8.3 will be the same.
