Strange audio bug in Vegas Pro 15 – Sounds out of sync, then in-sync, then out of sync again
In certain sections of my video, a sound effect will play. I have an audio clip dubbing over each instance of this sound effect. Every instance of the event being placed is meticulously placed frame by frame so that it sounds perfect.
Now, I’ve been doing stuff like this for a long time now with no issues. However, now something strange is happening. In the preview, it will sound fine. But when rendered, some instances sound out of sync (even though their timeline placement is 100% accurate). I’ll then go back to the preview, and they’re out of sync in the preview. Now, here’s the weird part. If I close and reopen the window, or minimize, or do all sorts of random things, then go back and play the audio clip, it’ll be back to normal. This doesn’t happen for any of my other audio clips.
Randomly, it will render in sync. But most of the time, at least 3 different instances will be out of sync even though they are locked in place on the timeline. I have tried unchecking “Quantize to Frames”, disabling snapping, re-rendering the audio with different file formats, but nothing works.
