    Hey people

Just a quick question about storylines and composite modes.

As you would expect when you add a single connected clip above the primary storyline and apply a composite mode such as “screen” it works as you would expect in the land of fcp 7.

However any clips that reside in a secondary storyline that have composite modes applied don’t work. eg you just see the upper most clip with no blending to the layer beneath.

When i turn the secondary storyline into a compound clip then a global composite mode can be applied across all.

But you can apply composite modes to the primary storyline and have it interact correctly to secondary storylines that are positioned beneath the primary one.

Some slight inconsistancies in the way this works or is it just my lack of understanding?

    cheers,

    brendan

That’s just wild – but you’re absolutely right. Crazy stuff that makes no sense. But hey it’s something new I’ve just learnt, thanks.

They weren’t wrong when they said…

    “Things have changed in post”

That said, with all the great info building here quickly, and hopefully some important updates not to far away, it can hopefully turn into a really useful tool.

    Things can only get better….
