The VEG file is the project file. That is what determines which files are on the timeline, where they are located, what transitions and effects you’re using, etc… That is THE MOST important file.
The BAK file is a backup of the VEG file. If, for some reason, you suddenly can’t open the VEG file, try renaming the BAK file to VEG and see if IT will open. It’s also a good reason to use the Save VEG tool in Excalibur which will keep a running history of VEG files for you.
The .SFK files are representations of your audio WAV image. It allows the wave form to be quickly drawn on the timeline. You can delete them and they will be recreated as needed.
Extra AVI files would require something YOU have done to be created. For example, if you pre-render, it will create AVI files. If you “Render to New Track”, it will create AVI files. I almost never pre-render and almost never Render to New Track. In most instances, the standard preview is fine for my usage. If it’s not, then I will RAM Render that small section. When done, I’ll do a final render (which will also create a new file).
