Storing Archive Footage with Adobe Premiere
I will soon be taking over the responsibilities of video editing for a local TV show. I asked the previous video editor how much storage I will need for archived video footage and he confused me.
He is using Avid and said that he stores the “b-roll” at a conversion rate of ’10 to 1′ ratio but when it is output to video it comes back as either a ‘3 to 1’ or 1 to 1 to ensure quality. Then says that the Avid software has a “conversion formula” within, wasn’t sure if Adobe did.
What does he mean by this? What is a conversion rate? Does Adobe Premiere have a conversion formula?
I have about 33 hours of footage to transfer and store, what is the best way to do this?
Sorry, there were no replies found.
