Storing and Sharing Vegas Presets
I’m in a situation where myself and another user access vegas and audio files for production from a separate server to our own individual computers on a network. This setup works fine except for the sharing of presets that we each may create for individual plug-ins or package chains.
It is not so much a problem when working on the same project, as once a setting is created, it is saved to the project file and can be read by the other computer as long as it has the same types of plug-ins installed. The only thing missing in that instance would be the NAME of the preset on the computer that did not create the preset, but the plug-in setting would remain as the original creator tweaked it.
The long division solution to sharing presets would then be to have the secondary computer name each plug-in setting they way the original computer created it. This isn’t a problem if there are only a few plug-ins involved, or a few projects involved, but it can be tiresome and annoying over numerous plug-ins/projects.
My question is if anyone knows a “short division” solution to this problem? Where are these presets stored on our computers? I’ve done visual searches in the programs folder as well as registry searches. I’ve also downloaded the pereset manager and still can not find the individual presets I have named. The same goes for my partner.
In a simple world, you could tell vegas where you would like your presets to be saved, but this is not a simple world it seems.
Any help would be appreciated.
