    hello to all-
    this is my first post so hpefully i am doing this correctly? i am about to embark on a 30min HD broadcast show that is shooting XDcam(sony) and will be cutting on FCP. how much storage space should i allot? looking at 7hrs of footage.

    Seven hours at the 35Mbps setting with two tracks of audio = 107.2GB

    Don’t forget that you need quite a bit more space than the actual digitize amount. With graphics, audio elements, rendered EFX etc. You will fill up drives pretty fast. And the most important part is that most drives run slower when they get past 3/4 full. So, be careful not to run low on storage, you might get playback issues from the drives.
