    Hi

Finally about to order some storage. Setup is MacPro/Kona – the capture station and then off to the Macbook Pro for editing and then back to MacPro to finish. So looking at 2 SATA/FW solutions. 1 for the desktop SATA for sure ; another for Laptop that is physically smaller and easy to carry around (SATA or FW800)

Looking at this new company called Dulce Systems, they are claiming 290+ Mb/s on their 4 drive system and Caldigit is claiming 230 MB/s on the 5 drive. I think I saw somewhere on Dulce’s website their new 8 drive system will pump 1200MB.. Well since technology has its upper limits, is it possible to “modify” the controllers that they bundle to squeeze that big of a difference and still be reliable? Dulce is only 9months old I think and hmmm… a little worried.. anyone still tried them yet?

The other option is G-Raid..or the Caldigit SVRDuo but then again the Duo chained together = problems again.. the SVRHD, still hanging with no solutions to its problems; or atleast I haven’t read an update.

    Decisions Decisions Decisions
Most of the work is going to be captured on the MacPro/Kona and then edited on Macbook Pro (dvcprohd, dv, 8bit uncomp.).. I was even lookin at the GRaid Mini for the laptop but storage size is not big enough.
Can you recommend a solution(s) please?

    Thanks
    Sammy
