I’m trying to do the effect like in Michael Jackson’s ‘Billie Jean’ where it’s a still photo, then enlarges and the video starts. I’ve tried doing it with a freeze frame, but it’s jerky. I had no luck with the time remapping. Basically I want the still to be 1 sec and then have it go smooth into the video.

I’m sure this is easy and I’m just overlooking something.

    Any help is always appreciated.

    The Freeze Frame will work.
Make sure the Freeze Frame you use matches the frame where the video begins to move.

You could also just export a still to photoshop and right back into FCP. Sometimes edits like this are built in reverse, that is, all the motion is built up first, then you go “backwards” to create the still the motion comes out of. Does that description make any sense?
