  • stopping video causes Playhead to jump back one frame

    Hello,

    Project: Appleproress / Progressive / 1024 x 576 (transcoded from red)

Im having a problem on my external PAL monitor and external LCD. When i stop playback my external monitors update and jump back one frame. Ive never had this problem before. I naturaly assumed that it was a fields/ progressive issue, but this is happening on a DV interlace project too. I hope you can help. Below ive listed details:

    Current project:
Red media transcoded with clipfinder to: Apple proress 1024 x 576
Sequence preset: Apple proress 1024 x 576, progressive
External Playback preset: 8bit uncompressed 720×576 625Pal (this has always played back my 1K proress media correctly letterboxed in my external monitors).
    AV settings: mirror on desktop
    View – All frames
Aja Kona 3 settings: Primary set to 625 Pal

Any advice will be gratefully recieved, i am often reading through this site for advice, but i haven’t come across this one yet.

    Thanks in advice,

    Joe

    Two guesses.

Could be that you are stopping on a field rather than a frame.

In the ‘codec’ tab of your Kona control panel, change the option to full frame instead of single field.

Also, make sure that your playback offset is set to 0 in the System Settings > Playback control preference located under the Final CUt Pro menu.

    Hi Jeremy,

Thanks for the response, very helpful. Im pretty sure the we are set to full frame but the second option is one stone I haven’t turned over yet. Just lost my suite to an external client and editor but will check at lunch and report back.

    Thanks again,

    Joe
