How can I get time lapse in P2 mode? Blue characters prevent access to rec function, one shot time, and interval time. I have the record format set at 720p/24pn.
Question 2: How can I get a low enough shutter speed to blur images? Is this a syncro scan. I can only get the shutter to go to 1/24th.

    Cannot do timelapse in 24pn
Set your camera to video mode.
    Shoot in 30p either 720 or 1080,
I usually opt for 1080 since most timelapses
would never fill a P2 card.
There is a trick to slow your shutter down,
but Barry Green would have to tell you about that.

The longest exposure you can get under normal circumstances is 1/12th or 1/15th.

If you use the frame rate trick and set the camera in 2fps mode, and set the shutter to 350 degrees, then you’ll get exposure times of 1/2 second, which are much more likely to create streaks.

It’s in the absolute final stages of graphic design right now, and should be released in the next two to three weeks depending on how long it takes to get back from the printer.

A few posts down where he used the M2 adapter there were a few shots where the car was driving and it was streaky as hell. It looked nice and I wonder how he got those shots with a 1/12 shutter speed. Have you seen the video?

You don’t get that with 1/12. You get that by setting the camera in two frames per second mode, with a 350-degree shutter. That delivers a 1/2-second exposure, and that gets you great streaks like these:

    Maybe I’m missing something.

I thought that the “two frames per second” mode was Interval Recording, which is only available as a “VideoCam” setting.

And the “350-degree shutter” function is available only under “FilmCam” settings.

I AM missing something, ‘cuz I can’t get this to work.

Could you please step me through the menu items and setting adjustments for this potentially great camera set-up?

Barry, how can we buy your book when it comes out?
