Activity Forums Panasonic Cameras Stop Motion Settings, slow shutter speed settings for blur

No, 2fps is a new hack that we discovered and posted on the forums.

    You’re not limited to just the 11 frame rates that the camera “officially” supports (12, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 30, 32, 36, 48, 60).

Instead, you can actually shoot at every even frame rate, and some odd frame rates, between two and 60 fps! All those frame rates are in there, they’re just not officially supported in the menu system. They haven’t been appropriately tested and certified by Panasonic. So the groundwork has been laid, but until they test and certify the framerates, they stay hidden.

But we found a way to unlock them. And by far my favorite of the new frame rates is 2fps, for superb undercrank capabilities with 350-degree shutter for long streaks and smeary motion blur.

Here’s a clip I shot at 2fps, barrelling down the freeway and the Las Vegas strip:

Thank you, Barry, for the follow up.

I did a search, and found your procedure for modifying the .txt scene file copied to and from the SD card.

Very clever, and it looks very straightforward. It just makes me wonder what other rabbits can be pulled out of this hat.

Can we buy stock in your HVX200 publishing empire?

Ok, I must be crazy but I can’t get this to work:

My scene file is like this:

    SCENE NAME :2FP350
    00005000: 8 ; DETAIL LEVEL: 0
    00005001: 8 ; V DETAIL LEVEL: 0
    00005002: 8 ; DETAIL CORING : 0
    00005003: 8 ; CHROMA LEVEL: 0
    00005004: 8 ; CHROMA PHASE: 0
    00005005: 8 ; COLOR TEMP: 0
    00005006: 16 ; MASTER PED: 0
    00005007: 8 ; A.IRIS LEVEL: 0
    00005008: 1 ; NEWS GAMMA: OFF
    00005009: 0 ; GAMMA : HD NORM
    0000500A: 0 ; KNEE: AUTO
    0000500B: 2 ; MATRIX: FLUO
    0000500C: 1 ; SKIN TONE DTL : OFF
    0000500D: 0 ; V DETAIL FREQ : THIN
    0000500E: 1 ; OPERATION TYPE: FILM CAM
    0000500F: 1 ; FRAME RATE: DEFAULT
    00005010: BE026801 ; SYNCRO SCAN :

and when i load it, it seems to look right till i go to the scene menu and look at it and it’s 30fps if i’m in 30p mode, and 60 if in 60i mode. what am I missing?
