I’ve hunted around for an answer for this, and haven’t been able to find one. We are using the S_TimeAverage sapphire effect for some of our shots. It gives a great effect, but the problem we’re having is that it almost looks like it is embossing the first frame of footage over the remaining shot. Now I recognize to an extent, this is what the effect is supposed to do, but we’ve set it for only 5 frames, not all.

We are also using the 3-way color corrector, as well as the S_FilmEffect from sapphire. It’s happening on every shot we do it on.

I’ve noticed that sometimes the way effects are layered in FCP can affect each other, but I’ve tried the effects in a variety of different orders.

Has anyone had a similar problem? I’m trying to get this project out the door, and can’t seem to find a solution. We’re using a Quad G5 loaded with RAM, and Final Cut 5.1.

    Any help would be appreciated.
