August 6, 2008 at 6:03 pmNo offense….Capturing through a player’s outputs is terrible advice. It bad enough converting MPEG2 to an editable format but avoid going through a players outputs.

August 6, 2008 at 9:51 pmChris, I am capturing via component out into a Kona LH 8 bit, so it looks the same to me.
Dave, you still have to wait for Streamclip to render, plus do the settings, ins and outs, it’s not all that much faster IMO.
Have a wonderful day.

August 6, 2008 at 10:10 pmHey Chris,
I also prefer Streamclip, and I just mindlessly rip the whole enchalada. (Of course I am mindless anyway, so that’s easy.) Its much faster than realtime, requires no logging, and frees-up FCP. Plus, it does a good job.
So get with it dude, join the 21st century and do more mindless work. It’s why we get paid blue collar wages, right?

August 6, 2008 at 11:53 pmI said I like Streamclip, and I also use it, but my DVD player usage predates it, and you know how old habits die…
Have a wonderful day.
