Activity Forums Panasonic Cameras still records to tape?

    Using the hvx200 and the firestore 100… cheap client wants only dv ntsc… whatever… check cleared we’re good… does the camera still record a signal to tape regardless of what format the firestore and camera are set to? curious to know if i will have a low grad back-up like i did with the old fspro4 and the old dv500 camera… honestly have not use tape since getting the camera…

    i know the minidv tape will only regard sd dv signal that’s cool

    The HVX200 will only record to tape in regular DV mode, not in HD mode. Set it for regular NTSC-DV, set the FS-100 to regular NTSC-DV, record to both tape and the FS at the same time. Simple as that.

    You can’t do tape in any HD mode on the HVX.
