I’m inserting still photos along with video clips (2544X1696pixels) on my timeline. I have black bars showing on the top and bottom of the photos. Can’t remove them with the pan and crop. Any good workaround within Vegas or do I need to resize my pictures?

    Thanks!

yes you need to resize those photos in an image editor before
dropping them on the vegas timeline.
Or to remove the black bars from around the images…
in the pan/crop window, right click and select “match output aspect”.

I already tried the “match output aspect”, but it’s not quite perfect. Plus, because of a “ken burn” effect, the edges reappear. I guess I’ll just resize.

    Thanks!

Yes thats what i recommended first, you need to resize them.
Also since you are gonna want to use the ken burns effect you
should resize them just a little bit bigger than the video
resolution you will be working with (DV OR HD) to give you some
space for movement/panning …and when you are rendering images
on the timeline set the “resolution rendering quality” to Best.
    from within the “project properties”.
