still images on secondary storyline need black bars
This seems very simple, but I need help finding how to get FCP X to do what I want.
On my primary storyline is an interview. When I add a still image that doesn’t fill the frame to the secondary story line, it does not have black bars and you can see the video on the primary storyline playing beneath it.
How can I get those black bars so that you can’t see the primary storyline during playback and only what’s on the secondary storyline?
Choosing “Fit” in Spatial Conform does not do what I want, I want to the black bars to be there somehow.

Add a connected clip of black that’s the same length of your image and sits right below it, but above the primary storyline.
