Stereo Pare
Hey there,
I have Final Cut Pro 6, and in the time line, we have a clip that has 2 mono tracks recorded on the camera through the XLR inputs. One had a lav mic and the other with a mono shot gun. I am wanting to make them a stereo pair but when I do, for some reason, they stop producing any sound. When they are not stereo paired they play fine in the time line. Dont know if this is a big or I did something wrong or what… But it does seem pretty freekin weird.

To make a stereo pair you need to export them together as a stereo pair. Thats the default iwhen exporting from FC. So export a.mov only audio, or an .aiff stereo and you’ve got it .

Do the sound OK when the two channels are panned left/right? Does the sound disappear when they are panned to center? If so, you might have the phase on one of the mics reversed while recording and they are canceling each other out when panned to center.

Cheers guys. I just restarted the whole comp, and now its working. But still seems weird tho. Ah well, the problems editors have huh?
