any good tips on creating a steam effect? I have some hot veggies that need a bit of steam. tried a path with a stroke and some blur, but it looks quite fake. any suggestions are much appreciated!

You can always add Scatterize to make it finer before the blur.

Any simple particle generator, Particle Playground or

    CC Particle World,
    decrease the gravity
    spread it out (Y Radius)
Birth Rate and Velocity to taste

    Scatterize, if need be

Follow with your Blur (Fast Blur?)

    > but it looks quite fake. < Yikes has an excellent suggestion but I will add that simulations of smoke and steam always look fake. Unless you're really good at it. "Realism" is elusive and relative. Far simpler to shoot some backlit steam against black and use your compositing skills. bogiesan This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
