I’m doing a Madman parody video and I’d like to try to use some of the actual footage from the intro, where a silhouetted Don Draper/figure moves around screen.

What’s the best way to just grab only the black/silhouette of the footage? I thought maybe I could garbage matte and then key or use luma mattes with levels, but nothing is quite doing what I would think would be an easy process.

    Any thoughts?

Rotoscope it, sometimes you spend longer trying to avoid roto then it would actually take to just do it.

Can you post a screengrab of the shot?
