Star Filter
Hey Guys,
We shot some jewelry. We tried a 4-point star filter to make it shimmer. It was a bit too much. Is there any way to add a “star filter-like” effect using the latest version of AE without needing to buy an additional plug-in? Thanks.

trapcode’s starglow would be a good effect, but you would need to spend about $50 to get it.
here is an old tutorial that shows a procedure for creating a starglow-like effect with several instances of the glow effect (it’s a bit over the top, but you should be able to tone it down to suit your needs).
