    Hello,
Does anyone know of a fairly simple way to change my cut film from a standard aspect ratio to 16:9. I know I’m going to loose some of the frame in each cut, but that’s okay with me. Should I use some kind of mask or something? Can I adjust where the frame sits inside the letter box by using the motion tab? Thanks for the help.

    p.s.
Does anyone know how to reformat a lacie ext. hdd to mac from fat…

you can indeed adjust how each shot is cropped, you can even tween it so that the shot’s composition changes to match the action in the frame. Trouble with this is, you’ll basically have to do this shot-for-shot.

I’d advise copying and pasting your entire project into a new sequence with the “Anamorphic” box checked. Check the box BEFORE you paste, then use the motion functions to resize and adjust the framing on each shot as you go. This will take a bit, but it’ll also give you the best quality for DVD – there’s nothing more annoying than putting in a letterboxed DVD if you have a 16X9 TV, which most people do nowadyas.

The Apple Disk Utility should help you format the ext HD. The app is hidden away in Applications\Utilities folder.

    Hey,
So. I tried what you mentioned and now i have a letter box also on the left and right side of the frame. Plus the top and bottom letter box lines are starting before the frame. So, essentially, its just the same aspect ratio but surrounded by black boxes. Any more suggestions? Thanks for all of your help.
