standard defintion 29.97 adrenline sequence to 1080p29.97 nitris project
Posted by Seb4book on June 7, 2007 at 10:05 pmDoes anyone know how to get a SD sequence into a HD 1080p29.97 project? Is there a conversion process, or additional software needed?

You will have to determine how you want to treat the SD footage. Either use the uprez capability or letterbox the image and maybe apply a graphic background, for instance.

I might be misunderstanding your response. I know you can switch between SD and HD in the “formats” pull down menu.
But in the Symphony Nitris, you cannot open an interlaced sequence in a progressive project. I know you can fool a 1080p29.97 into digitizing 1080i footage, but the sequence is flagged as intelaced.
What version of Avid Nitris allows an open HD 1080 project? How do you access it?
By the way, thank you for your quick response.

June 8, 2007 at 3:19 amI’m sorry…I didn’t know it was interlaced in MCA and progressive in Nitris.
The best I could suggest here in this case would be Michael Phillips’ conversion approach.

Hope this helps.
