Guys , can i bother you to run the test again with the new R10.2 version ?

I am getting much lower numbers out of my MacPro 6,1 than John Hamlik for example.
John, are you sure you ran the latest one ?
I have the same config you have, but my numbers are almost half that.
Or am I doing something wrong ?

    Custom Build by Iconic Worksations
4.3GHz 6-core, 32GBs RAM,2x GTX 690 on 10.8.5. I saw the same performance in 10.9.2 as well, perhaps even times where it seemed a half frame lower.

Monitors plugged into the top 690 and the box checked to use GUI for renders.

    Blur Nodes:
    09 24
    18 24
    30 24
    66 12
    TNR:
    1 24
    2 24
    4 15
    6 9

Sascha,Do you have the box checked to use your GUI for rendering as well? It is Preferences-> I/O. That would certainly explain why you might score half what a duplicate system does.

    Hello There !

    my name is Angelos

I have also a Mac pro desktop 5,1
with 20 Gb ram and i want to update my graphics Card from the HD radeon 5870 to the new GTX Titan black.
I was thinking for the evga super clocked or the Gigabite version (in my country i can find easier the Gigabite version)

Here are some questions if you could answer to me.
Is there any issue with the card?
Does the card workes out of the box?
In the specifications i read that the card needs a 600W PSU and the PSU of the
mac pro desctop 5,1 is 980W if i am not wrong.
So does it really need an extra PSU for the card if you are only going to use one card?

    Thanx!

Without external power Titan probably will kill your mac.

    Hi Clark,

I just installed a similar setup to yours with a Titan Black and FSP Booster X5.
I’m only getting 10fps playback ungraded footage in Davinci Resolve Lite. When I install the GT120 in slot 2 of my Macpro and have the GUI display connected to the Titan Black, same playback of ungraded footage goes up to 24fps. Do you know why is this?

The problem is that when I have the 2 cards (Titan Black + GT120), if I connect the GUI Display to the Titan I get nice playback fps, and very slow GT120 processing. If I connect GUI display to GT120 I have slow playback fps (10fps for ungraded footage) and fast processing. And if I have just the Titan Black for GUI and Processing I still have slow fps playback (10fps for ungraded footage).

    What am I doing wrong??

Any help will be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Bruno

Don’t use the GT120 only use TITAN for GUI/GPU. That 120 is crippling your setup.

Thats what I did a couple hours ago, but I only get 10fps playback speed of ungraded footage. Very slow for a Titan Black no?
What else could be crippling the speed?

If I put the GT120 and leave the GUI display connected to the Titan like it is right now, I get 24fps playback. Weird…
