Hi i am rendering a simple scene with studio lighting and sort of mo-graph animation of cubes within a cube. After a motion object leave stains on the surfaces. When left rendering scene overnight which seemed like 20-40sec per frame it went up to a whopping 7min per frame over night because of those glitching surface stains. Of course it didn’t render the whole sequence till my wake up :/

When i re-render towards the middle of timeline – those marks are gone. It seems like the stains build up from beginning and affect the render times more heavily each time and ends up in an enormous render time.

What could cause this? I am using global illumination and ambient occlusion. GI is set to irridance cache. I’ve heard that setting to QMC will fix the problem but it then goes to abut 40mins per frame:

    After left over night:

After stopping render and starting from same frame:

Cube animation that leaves stains (pops inside and out)

Also stains on floor when cube rotates 90 degrees (bottom right):

    Any help is appreciated!

can you post the scene file (without the phone I assume). QMC would likely solve your problems but sometimes artifacts can be minimized (though artifacts that stay are unusual)
