    Hi
I have an issue with a shot I am trying to stabilize. I did the usual to get rid of the up and down and left and right motion by using the stabilizer in AE. But now I have an issue with the camera doing a slight tilt, which shows up as distortion in the perspective. I wondered if there was a way to get rid of this as well.
I tried to use the pin perspective tracking tool, but didn’t really do what I expected. Not sure if I am using it correctly though.

Seems to me, there should be a way to use something like Liquify, where it creates a grid and applies the image to it, then tracks offsets and animates ‘against’ the image to stabilize localized details.

I’m not at my AE machine to check this for you but look for a filter called Optics Compensation. it won’t necessarily correct perspective distortion caused by a tilt but it can help. You are probably going to need to turn the layer into 3D and tip it. This is a very unsatisfactory solution since it requires up-scaling about half of the image. Those pixels will tend to get noisy.
