Anyone have luck stabilizing long (5+ minutes) of RED 6k footage?

We shot the horizon in 6k to display on a 72 foot wall exhibit using HD projectors, but the footage bounces from the wind on shore. The clips are actually 20 minutes long and the entire show will be about an hour. I’m trying to use AE to stabilize it in 5 min chunks but it’s taking days to process on a Mac Pro with 64 gb of RAM.

I’m guessing I need to setup a massive render farm for this?

Render farm only helps on the final render. It won’t help with performance.

Thanks for the honest response, unfortunately hiring a crew again to reshoot it is out of the question.
This is my problem now to deal with.

Make 1080p proxies to stabilize, then relink or copy that data to the 6K files. As long as you have some high contrast points in your shot, it should work. The problem with separating into chunks is you may get little jumps between clips if they aren’t all stabilized exactly the same.
