SRT file not complete in Premiere
Hello CC people,
A film was sent to an external company for subtitling. They have sent back .SRT files.
When I opened it in PP it came out very short, with only 4 of 70 captions showing.
I tried converting it to a .scc which then reveals the full file info, but apostrophes get converted to special characters. I then tried a Unicode converter which resulted in only 4/70 captions showing (at least it had working apostrophes!)
I contacted the company and their advice seems to be to reimport the file, but the exact same thing happens each time. Where am I going wrong?

Thank you for replying. I have found a fix.
There is a reason it cut off at 4/70 specifically.
To fix this issue you need to open the .srt file in a text editor. Between each line of code there should be one line break only (see below).

which nobody seemed
to know about at the time.There were two line breaks between several lines of text, which seemed to make PP freak out! (example below…)

to know about at the time.Simply ensure there is one line break between each caption and it will fix the problem. Then reimport and enjoy!

Note that two blank lines will stop the import even if one of the blank lines is logically part of two line captions. That is, if the second line in a two line caption is blank, acting as a visual placeholder for line 2.
