Hi guys and girls. This is pretty much a novice question, and I’ve learned how to correct it before, but I can’t seem to remember, so please forgive me.

I’m shooting NTSC 720×480 60i, very normal, but I keep getting the squiggly or rippled edge effect on my shots. i.e. the outline of someone, or an object has this bad interlaced look, like a jagged edge, whenever the camera is in motion.

    Any advice?

Yes. Don’t shoot 480/60i on an HVX.

Not being facetious, just calling it like it is. It’s a known issue. 480/24p looks fantastic, 480/30p is gorgeous, but 480/60i has a lot more stairstepping in it.

About the best you can do to minimize it is turn your detail level and v-detail-level down to -7.
