    Any thought as to the best way (in Final Cut Express or Quicktime) to take the harshness out of a violin quartet? Recorded AT a wedding, about 6 feet away – but it’s a very squeaky overall sound. Of course, they’re a totally pro quartet, just a bad, outdoor recording. Looking for the best filter choice – High Shelf? DeEsser? Thanks for any ideas at all.

    Experiment with rolling off in the 7 to 10kHz range to moderate squeakiness and boosting 200 to 300Hz to add fullness. A little compression (2:1) might also help.
