Hi. I saw an older post on something like this but it didn’t help me.
I’ve seen how to dolly into a circular tunnel using polar coordinates, displacement maps and such like but they all seem to be creating a cyclindrical tunnel. I’d like to create a rectangular one.

I’m trying to find out if there is a way to easily animate into a one point perspective tunnel like the one attached. and to make things more complicated, can it be in an infinite loop? And can it be done without 3rd party plugins?

i’ve scoured the forum and the internet as well and can’t seem to find what i’m looking for. Can anyone here help me?

    Thank you all again.

I’m not sure I understand. But something like this?

    thank you for the reply.

Yes something like that except you would see the lines/edges converging in the center. so it sort of looks like a funnel. I know how to do the loop like you showed, (i think its shape layers, scale and loopOut code), it’s the converging lines that are throwing me.

here’s a sloppy example of what i’m thinking.

I used a camera and 20 shape layers. I added an additional move to reveal the layers and planing.

and here I added lines, but they are on a 2D layer and the camera won’t track them, so if I add the rotation move, then they’ll just be stuck.

And here I made a box, added a light, and because these are solids, they can be preComped, effected and decorated.

WOW. Thank you for all the time and effort you put into this.
they all look great but can they be looped infinitely so the tunnel looks never ending?
that seems to be my main problem. every time i try the a simple loopOut expression there’s the inevitable jump frame.

looks like i may have figured it out. using a stroked square shape, the echo effect, scale property and the loopOut(“cycle”). I’m attaching a CS6 version of the project file and the embeded video to show what i did.
