Springy/Bouncy Animation of an Image
Imagine rays sprouting from a sun. I have a series of png images (let’s call them rays), and want to make the rays not only appear across the sun, but spring or bounce up a little. So one by one, they will spring from the sun, then bounce into place very subtly.
Does that make sense?
Ray comes up from the sun
Springs out a wee bit
squishes (or bounces) into it’s (originally imported size) placeIs this possible in After Effects?

Thanks, Jon. I’m unfortunately not skilled at expressions, but I’m sure it’s a more efficient way to create this effect. I appreciate your suggestion.
The puppet tool worked out very well 🙂
I placed a puppet pin at both ends of the rays, squished from the top of each ray, went forward a few frames, stretched the ray, then a few frames further, I returned the ray to its original position.

Dunno how well it would have worked for this specific task, but the Ease and Whizz script, brings the bouncy power of expressions to the ease of just hiting a button. Worth looking at for the future if you don’t have it.
