    Splitting up a large image

    I am working with a very large image in my comp in CS5, the dimensions are 10208 x 14032 1200 dpi. My renders are taking a bit longer than I would like so I was wondering would it speed things up for me if I split the image up into 4 or 16 even pieces in Photoshop and then bring them back in to my comp?
