I would like to be able to output HD from the DVI and HD-SDI ports while simultaniously outputting down converted SD on the analog ports of my Multibridge Extreme. Has anyone been able to do this? Hardware down conversion in general does not always work on my 720p projects, although softwarre down conversion does.

    Hi Chris,

When you turn on Hardware Down Conversion on the Multibridge Extreme, this is what you get out of the ports:

    SDI Channel A: HD-SDI
    SDI Channel B: SD-SDI
    DVI: HD
    Component: HD
Composite: – (composite doesn’t have enough bandwidth of HD video)

If the Analog Output Down Conversion is enabled:

    SDI Channel A: HD-SDI
    SDI Channel B: SD-SDI
    DVI: HD
    Component: SD
    Composite: SD

We support 720p59.94 Down Conversion for 720 HD. 1080i50 gets down converted to PAL. 1080p23.98 and i59.94 gets down converted to NTSC.

    regards

    Ahh-

Once again, it would help if I read the documentation more carefully. Yes, it works exactly as you describe. As I am doing a lot of 720p, it looks like it’s time to set my CRT monitor aside for a while as it does not do progressive display. I’ll use a cinema display on the DVI port instead (which is what I should have been doing anyway- I’m just used to setting colors with the CRT).

Thank you for the good advice!
