How do I get the split beam option in the particle deflector to split the beam 50/50. At the moment it seems to deflect about 10 percent of the particles. As I am designing some quantum optic simulations which require a 50/50 split, it would be really boring if I had to manually animate each particle instead of just switching the beam split function on

    Thanks

the percentage you are looking at is for elasticity not “percentage of split”. In the manual it says “‘some’ particles will be deflected”. I found if you put in 5 deflectors (not right on top of each other – a bit of space in-between) it looks 50%-ish. be aware that the speed of the particles is important too (not too fast).
Otherwise Thinking Particles and some Xpresso…

Thanks, that’s a good work around and has got me back up and running.

The inability to set a parameter value for spit beam does seem to be an ommission in the program. I can’t really see how the function is that useful without some degree of control.

Well, that’s why we have TP I guess. More work but particle by particle control if you want it.
