    Hello,

    Getting a grasp on this.

    Still a noob.

I have done some shaping of objects lately. And am just trying some things out.

I have a landscape object, that has a flat plateau on top. trying to put fur/grass on just the top.

Looking for a better(The Right way)to do this.

I have tried a plane and Freeform deform-Didn’t work very well.
I tried a freehand drawn spline and add it too hyper or loft nurbs.

I have gotten the flat object drawn to match up with the plateau.
But when I add fur, it is scattered about or is underneath depending on which nurbs I used.

I thought maybe I could also try and add an object and knife and extrude it to shape, but that could take a long time.(and probably will not look good.)

I am learning a lot about C4d and all aspects of.I may be ahead of myself here. As it is something I have yet to learn or figure. there is So much too this app I want more, to do more , to learn more.

I do not know enough yet to use my wits.
Any one got a better way? Or a way to approach it?

I just don’t know enough yet.

    Thanks for your reply.

I would make the landscape object editable, select the polygons you want to put grass on, and apply the Hair to that selection.

    Thanks for reply.

The polygons are so out of whack. they are huge stretched triangles.
and the hair would only apply on them. must be segments or other attribute settings.

But, I have learned a couple other ways to maybe do this.

    1. I duplicated the landscape, scaled it down, and got just the top to poke through. Not ideal.same outcome.

    2. I created a new landscape from a cubic spline, the other was preform object drop.why it was so out of whack unsure. If it is the furrows segments attributes or what.

Am stuck in rendering past day,but in using the Spline, the top is a cap.I have yet to try and add fur/hair/grass to it.

Also seen a tut on making grass using an extrude technique. As usual whenever I think I cant figure something and post it, I learn or find or figure something out.

Until I can get back into app after current render to test some more.

I thought there may be a way to add a polygon, object, plane in the shape of top to correct for the weirdness of the polygons on the landscape top.

Wondering a better way or how to get this right?

    sorry for dbl posting.
