    Hey everybody,

Coming up against an odd problem. Bringing in type outlines from AI, dropping them into a Fracture THEN an Extrude is causing letters with holes in them to fill in (see attached) If I use a Text object (no MoText) that problem goes away….however….I have client supplied type that I need to extrude. Any ideas how to get around this? Tried going into an extrude first then fracture, but that’s not working out at all. This seems like 101 type stuff but for some reason, it’s not working as I remember it does.

    Thanks,
    Craig

Just guessing here, but if there is any kind of stroke on the text from AI then you will end up with 2 splines close together make it look wrong when you extrude, so check for strokes and open paths, the only other way would be to have the client provide the font file so then you can use motext.

and I am guessing that he’s throwing it in a fracture object so he can still use mograph effectors? maybe.

Great, thank you, I’ll check out their AI file now. And yes, it’s to us effectors. Thanks!
