spinning wheel on fcp
Looking for help with a spinning wheel that keeps popping up in Log and Transfer. Happened 2nd straight day. Yesterday just ended session. Today, it happened while I was trying to set an out point. The wheel is colored and just spins and spins and spins. please tell me how to stop it so I can resume my work, how to prevent it and what causes it. Also, I’m not using a mouse yet, using the pad on the MacBook Pro. Really appreciate any help troubleshooting this and I hope the response(s) can help others who’ve encountered this issue. Thanks

This means your computer is busy trying to do its job. Make sure you have closed all other programs running in the background and see if that helps.

Just spoke to tech support at Apple and rep says the video I was working with from the desk top was highly compressed and had not been transcoded for Log & Transfer and therefore was freezing up. I bumped all that video to external hard drive and now I have the camera connected to the laptop and will ingest video from there. Tech support rep says that should change it to make it more suitable for editing. Again, much appreciated!
