Spin up old hard drives to keep them working?
I’ve heard that hard drives break down faster if you don’t spin them up occasionally. I have a couple external hard drives that I only need to connect to my computer about every 6 months and was wondering if just plugging them in and adding a file or 2 is enough to keep them from degrading quickly or do I need to run a program that forces them to scan all files? Thanks!
