  • Speed Change throws off Canvas and in and out points

I have about 18 hours of 16mm film shot at 18FPS. It was transferred at 24FPS and so it is sped up. By removing 33% speed from my clip, the footage looks normal. The problem I am having is I rippled the speed change throughout all five of my timelines. I went through and cut each different segment. The problem is teh Speed change of course gives me a green render bar. When I finally render, the clip shifts. When I place my header at the first frame of the clip, what the canvas is showing is different than the icon frame on the clip. If I export the clip out, it ends up being different by 00:01:48:05 backwards. So when I went and cut the tail end of black off starting at the last frame of video and moving forward with nothing but black in it and exported out, it ended up being the last 00:01:48:05 of video before the last frame of video. Can anyone explain this?

I can’t answer but could you change speed in the clip before you put it in the timeline?

I will have to try that out and get back to you. Right now I am exporting out new Quick Times after dropping them in the timeline and changing the speed, making no cuts. I will then cut from the new QT’s. It is a long way around but It will get me there. I will try to change the speed after I render these out. Thanks.
