Although the official press release is not out yet, as promised I am posting some info here first.

Our new Bravo unit which will make its debut at NAB is finally ready for a peek. Some in LA did get a glimpse last month and contributed some great ideas that got rolled in (thanks guys).

    What is the Bravo?

The Bravo is a 3U Rackmount system that has 2 6 Pak canisters that can contain either SATA or SAS drives and that are hot swappable. This is a solution partly developed by us here at SpectSoft and by the manufacturers you have all grown to trust. A Solution, long time in the making…..

    How does this help you?

The Bravo now offers up a solution that will allow you to capture uncompressed (combined with RaveHD) and move the content to another bay, studio, city or country without having to transfer a single frame to an external drive. This saves time and money.

The Bravo can also be purchased without drives, making a great solution to connect directly into a SAN, while also offering the ability to plug in a Pak and move content from the SAN to relocate the content elsewhere.

Why is this so different from other external SATA enclosures/solutions?

The Bravo is a complete system that allows far more flexability than just dumb storage but yes we have designed the Bravo to also be a dumb storage add-on unit to other systems.

Drives are widely available, offering a solution that allows the user to treat a drive Pak just like a tape. Thus, making a solution that works closely to a tape workflow if you wish but with all of the benefits of going tapeless. (that’s tapeless not topless)

Now ready for the cool news?

The Bravo offers up the means to do multi stream ingest/playout to boot (uncompressed of course) 🙂

We will be sharing the new unit in the 3Ware Booth, Cinesys Suite and SpectSoft Suite at NAB. Information can be found at: https://www.spectsoft.com

    Cheers,
    Ramona
