    hello,
I did a “highlight” effect yesterday at work. It was a black and white
surveillance tape where you see the bad guy hold up a liquor store,I wanted to highlight the bad buys head with a light round circle.

On v2 I used a SpectraMatte Key and set to 50 opacity.
On v1 clip i used an animmate key with circle..

It all worked perfectly except after I rendered and played back
the clip on v2 withthe SpectraMatte was fuzzy, glimmery, real bad
. Anyone have an idea why this happened, or how can i do this effect without fuxxy video on v2?
    thank you!

I’m not following why your using spectramatte. Are you keying something?
I usually use a color effect on v1 and crank down the brighness just a bit, then on v2, I use another color effect to brighten up what I want brightened then I nest animatte to cut it out.

You can actually do this entirely with the 3D warp effect….no color effects, animattes, or layers….unfortunately I am not in front of the system right now and can’t give you a step by step from memory.

    hey Grin:
    thanks for the reply.
I ‘m only using the Spectra matte because I saw someone else use
it to create a highlite. But the color effect sounds like an easier way to go. I tried it and it worked. thanks!
