A couple of years ago I had to do a Spanish version of an AE project (in AE 6.5PB). I’ve got another project now that needs to be put into Spanish. I’m using AE 7.0 Pro but can’t get the same keyboard shortcuts to work as in the past (for example alt-160 etc…). I’m using Windows XP Pro.

Am I forgetting something here or does AE 7.0 not allow for this?

    Thanks.

It should work — it’s an OS thing.

Cutting and pasting (from the Internet, for example) should work if nothing else does. You could copy a bunch of desired symbols into a text doc, then copy/paste those into AE.

But also try typing those words & symbols into a text editor, then copy/paste.

You get vowels with accents on Win by pressing ALT + 160, 161, 162, etc.
On Mac it’s option + E and then vowel.

I tried that but it doesn’t work on my machine in Win XP. Strange…

I’m using the cut and paste system for now. It’s working.

    Thanks for all the replies.

There’s been trouble with getting this to work for a lot of folks on Win XP. I’m not sure what the issue is.

I’m glad to know it’s not just me! With AE 6.5 it worked, so it must be some sort of AE 7 issue. When I upgrade to CS3 in the future (not yet – can’t afford it yet with the entire collection) it will be interesting to see if the problem’s been fixed.
