I’ve got a Mac Pro on 10.7.5 with a Black Magic Intensity Pro, newest drivers and Premiere CC. Can someone tell me if there is a way to spit out what is in the source monitor to my external display? This worked beautifully with my kona lh and fcp 7. I feel like I have to be missing something and all my googleing has yielded nothing. Thanks in advance!

It’s been a year since I worked with PP CS6, but I had the same issue. I think the problem is that the BM card doesn’t have hardware scaling, so unless you’re working in an HD project, you won’t get client monitoring of your source.

However, at least for me, when I used the Matrox MX02 mini, it worked beautifully. Again, I’m assuming because the Matrox box had hardware scaling built in?

    Anybody confirm?

I can confirm that the Matrox has hardware scaling, up and down. I believe the BMD cards have hardware downscaling, but not upscaling.

What if I don’t need upscaling? shouldn’t a 1080p tv be able to display 1080p footage(if the frame rate is supported)?

Yes. The Intensity Pro should be able to output to the following formats:
    1080p23.98, 1080p24, 1080p25, 1080p29.97, 1080p30

As long as your monitor supports it there should be no problems.

    1080i30 too, I’d hope. Or, rather, 1080i59.94 (at 29.97fps).

    Yes?

Yes sorry. I was just listing the 1080p formats because that’s what he’s using. The entire list is:

    1080i50, 1080i59.94, 1080i60, 1080p23.98, 1080p24, 1080p25, 1080p29.97, 1080p30, 720p50, 720p59.94 and 720p60.

And just to be clear, your source footage IS 1080, correct?

Go under Edit and then preferences. Look for the Playback option. Select the Blackmagic playback. Then try the Source or Program preview.
