Unfortunately I found out after purchasing Bias SoundSoap 2 that Bias recently went out of business. Nevertheless I wish to use it within Premiere CS6 or Audition CS6.

Prior to purchasing I spoke to a sales rep at Roxio (who now distributes SoundSoap) and was told that it is compatible for use within Adobe CS6 applications. I’m hoping I was not lied to.

Does anyone know why the plugin is not showing up from any of the Adobe apps, or more specifically Premiere CS6?

P.S. When installing the software, I left every box checked for the various plugin types to ensure compatibility.

    Thanks!

I don’t know the soundoap plugin set, but Adobe’s focus seems to be on 64-bit VST almost exclusively (though AU plugins work in Audition).

If the VST plugins installed by Soundsoap are 32bit you’re out of luck in Premiere. For Audition however, you can at least figure out whats going on by going to the Effects Menu and opening the Audio Plug-In Manager. “Scan for Plugins” should get you started and, at the very least you’ll see if a plugin is detected and/or working – even if other more detailed info isn’t provided.

Hope you find the answer you’re looking for!

Thanks Petros you’ve been a big help. Apparently I was lied to by the sales rep regarding Premiere CS6.

I do in fact see SoundSoap in Audition using the method you said, so clearly the problem is the lack of 32-bit support in Premiere. Perhaps I will attempt to get a refund and fork up the extra dough for Izotope Rx.

    Cheers.

Look into JBridge for Mac. It is a VST wrapper that allows the use of 32-bit plugins within 64-bit hosts and vice versa. It may not work with every plugin but I’ve had great success with it getting some legacy vst effects to work.

Please be aware that Premiere may gray out some plugins regardless if they properly load into the program due to audio channel or other compatibility issues.
