I thought that I would ask you guys a question, seeing that there is no forum here for users of Soundbooth CS3. I use Vegas Pro 8 as my editing software, and Encore as my authoring program. I am editing a wedding in Vegas and clicked on a audio track to edit and it gives me a chance to assign an audio editor to send the file (on the timeline)to, so I can edit it. So I assigned Vegas to send my audio files to Soundbooth. Only problem is, how to export it back to the timeline. I looks as if it may have changed the original file on my drive. That is not what I want it to do though. I want it change it only on the timeline, then save the timeline file. Does anyone know how to do this?

Once Sb has the file, do a Save As operation and give the file a new name. Then edit the audio as desired.

Back in Vegas, there should be some kind of “replace clip” function that lets you replace the original clip on the timeline with the modified clip. Your original audio file remains unaltered.
