  Sound suddenly missing but only from certain video

  I have a set of 7 videos from the same source (recorded about a year ago) and up until today they’ve been working fine. Then, I imported the video into Premiere Pro (CS6) and all of a sudden the sound just disappears. What has me stumped is not only is the sound not working in Premiere Pro, my raw footage seems to have been affected. I have this footage saved on two separate hard drives and on a disc and none of it is working. I’ve tried on two different computers and no luck. I have other video, from the same source, in the same format and this works fine. I’ve tried playing the “faulty” video in windows media player, VLC media player, media player classic…and nothing. I can see the video playing, I can even see the sound bars moving up and down on the mixer but I can’t hear anything. I don’t know if this is related to Premiere Pro but I only started having problems after importing the footage. Before that it was all working fine. I’m totally baffled and if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

  Also, I’m sorry, I’m new to this so I don’t know if you need any further information but I’m using Windows 7 and CS6
