sound issues
hope fully i’m not violating any rules by asking 2 questions.
1) There is a hum in the backround of an interview. It is a location sound that could not be eliminated. Any cool filters that might work? Band pass got rid of the hum but also all depth and volume to the voice.
2) Ive been advised to mix my audio tracks to the middle to avoid losing one track on systems thatmghthave only one track. Any suggestions on how to do this and wether or not its a good idea? -

If the interview was mic-ed with a lapel or boom, you may have only one channel of audio, the other channel will just be empty or from the on-camera mic. Check your waveforms on the timeline and it should become pretty obvious pretty quick if this is the case, then delete the dead track of audio as that may be causing some of your background noise…

If you have Apple’s “Soundtrack,” it has the same kind of sampling noise reduction filter.
To put a single channel of audio onto both channels, just PAN that channel to the CENTER and increase its level by about 3 to 6 dB.
